Okay... So I have sensitive skin. Nobody believes me when I tell them that. I even tell them that they won't believe how sensitive my skin is. They never do.
I got my first lasering session in the Bay Area today, my sixth session total. Didn't get approval for the no interest loan, and don't have enough credit for the package deal that would have it cost $280 a session, so I wound up having to pay $350 for this session. Ugh.
I tried the Lightsheer instead of GentleLASE this time. It was... interesting. Much less painful than the GentleLASE, only because it was configured so that each zap covered a much smaller area. I was able to actually relax through a good chunk of it.
Ah, but then the sensitivity kicked in. I must suppose that I am rather unusual in the level to which my sensitivity rises, because my nurse was VERY surprised when she started scrubbing my chin to get rid of my destroyed hairs and discovered that I was bleeding and she had removed a layer of skin in a few places.
*growls*
Now, the rest of my face feels more or less fine, but the area where I have had those scrapes is hurting really bad. She was very apologetic and honestly surprised to discover what she had done to me. I guess I'm rare or something.
*sighs* We'll see how this looks in the morning.
On the bright side, though, I started crying when I realized that the hair was going to be falling out then and there. It's just such a relief to know that I'll soon be able to shave without causing myself to bleed in two dozen different places.
Thinking about that, I realized that the only time I haven't been actively bleeding or scabbing up on my chin was the 8 months last year when I was getting lasered in Cleveland. Oh, and before I had facial hair. Other than that, I've been bleeding since I was, like, 17. This is the part I hate about facial hair. Not the little black flecks of hair. Oh no. It's the cuts, scrapes, scabs, pimples, ingrown hairs, infected hair follicles, dark red rashes, red irritated skin, etc. It's the fact that I lose a little blood every single morning.
So yeah. I was shedding a few tears over the feeling of beginning to watch that go away again. :)
