About the folks telling you "you should wear shoes when you _____"
(when the risk is to YOU if you don't, IE moving heavy furnature - YOU get hurt more if something falls on your toes..)
I don't think those folks are intending on being rude, It's in human nature to care about other humans. I might say the same thing - out of compassion.. not out of judgement.
