Horror

Her parents got into a horrible car crash. Her father died, and her mother lost an arm.

There was a trial. At the trial, one of the lawyers outed her as a trans woman.

The town she lived in was... somewhat less than supportive. They threatened her and her mother with death threats.

Yesterday, at 2pm, she was kidnapped, gang raped, bludgeoned with a sledgehammer, and buried alive.

She managed to crawl out of her grave and find help, but died in ICU last night.

All this for being transgender...

Details are scant, but here's where I heard about this.

I'm hoping this turns out to be a fake story, but honestly... I wouldn't be surprised at all if this were real.

EDIT: This looks like a hoax. Read here

I can't find anything in the news either, but the similarity to Gwen Araujo's murder makes me suspect it's a true story.

The story appears with less detail here (http://www.lauras-playground.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=8583&view=findpost&p=80246).

Or Brandon Teena or Matthew Sheppard.

That sort of mentality is damned ubiquitous out there...

It's really getting to me how other people are trying to label it a hoax.

If it is, I will be surprised.

If it's not, ....they're pissing me off either way, honestly.

Honestly, the story reads really strangely... The first indication of this person's death is through a friend on her forum, with an incredible amount of detail? It's odd. How did this person get this information? Why hasn't there been anything in the news? Why does it appear that there's only a single source for this information?

Assuming the story is real, there's definitely something strange going on that the rest of us aren't privy to. And it's that oddness that is setting off the skeptic in me and others. I'm sure the information will come out over the next few days, though...

Personally, I'm not trying to label it a hoax. Excepting the wish that someone, somewhere, did not suffer a brutal and horrifying death, I have no personal interest in proving the story false.

I've just seen too many "OMG! Horror! Call to arms!" kind of urban legends, and that sort of thing makes the true stories seem less credible.
